Freedom Party activists prevented from visiting Palhallan

Srinagar, Aug 23: (GNS) Police today prevented Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah from visiting Palhallan. He along with his associates was intercepted at Singhpora on their way to Palhallan. Freedom Party spokesperson while condemning the repeated arrest of its chairman termed it “Government’s frustration”. He said that in order to cover up their undemocratic and anti-people activities, the government is preventing pro-freedom leaders from meeting people. “It is undemocratic and dictatorial policy of government and against the democratic norms to bare the political opponents from performing their peaceful political activities,” the party spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS said. Terming the government’s current policy as “threat to democracy”, the spokesperson expressed hope that pro-freedom nation will never come under the deception of these rulers. “We will continue our political struggle for freedom and will never let government succeed in suppressing the freedom movement,” the spokesperson added.
