Srinagar, Aug 16 (KNS): Army on Friday claimed to have killed 28 militants since June 24, this year out of which 18 were killed at the Line of Control (LoC). Addressing a press conference here, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15-Corps Lt General Gurmit Singh said, “In Sopore, we have apprehended four militants. They were behind the killing of an Special Police Officer (SPO) and were planning attack on some Sarpanchs on and after August 15.” The Army has also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, which they claim bear markings of the Pakistan Army. The statement of the Army came at a time when New Delhi is busy in alleging Islamabad that its troops have violated the ceasefire on LoC, number of times resulting in the death of at least five Army men. Even in the Parliament hot debate was witnessed some days back and the government clearly alleged Pakistan of ceasefire violations on LoC.
