Ganderbal, Aug 3 (KNS): A one-day Nazool-i-Quraan Conference, organized by Qamria Model Higher Secondary Educational Institute, Saloora was held here on Saturday. A large number of people including religious scholars, academicians and students from different schools of the district participated. The topic of the conference was “Quraan ka paigam insaniyat kay Naam”.On the occasion, prominent religious scholars, who included Moulana Riyaz-ul-Haq Noorabaadi, Moulana Bilal Ahmad Kirmani and Prof Bashir Ahmad Nehvi were present while as former Chief Secretary and Chairman Management Committee Ziyarat Syed Qamar-u-din Bukhari (RA), Shiekh Ghulam Rasool presided over the function. During the Conference, the speakers threw light on the topic and unanimously said Quraan is the complete guideline and code of conduct for the humanity. Stressing for following the teachings given in Quran, the speakers said that teachings of Quraan guide us at every step of life. The speakers said that the teachings of Islam have become more relevant in today’s context and people, especially youth, should follow them strictly for living a disciplined and contending life. They said that the Quraan preaches compassion, tolerance, brotherhood and love which are much needed in the present times. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, while speaking on the occasion urged upon youth to follow the teachings of Quraan so that they can achieve the prosperous life in both the worlds.Later prizes were distributed among the winning contestants in the debate. The first and second positions were bagged by Ajaz Ahmad Malik of Sainik School Manasbal and Muzamil Tariq of Hanfiya High School Haran respectively while third position was given jointly to Rukhsana Riyaz of Girls Higher Secondary School Nunar and Uzma Ashraf of Qamaria Model School Saloora.
