Shabir Shah visits Shopian; pays glorious tribute to Aasiya & Nelofar

Shopian: Senior Hurriyat Leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah today visited South Kashmir’s Shopian town to pay tributes to Aasiya and Nelofar on their 4th martyrdom anniversary. The duo were raped and murdered in 2009 after which the town observed a spontaneous strike of 47 days. Shabir Shah while paying glorious tributes to the teenager Aasiya and her sister-in-law Nelofar said “We will not let the blood of martyrs to go waste, we will fight for our justice, for our birth right, for our freedom till we achieve the goal. India is using it as a war weapon to molest our sisters and daughters, but we will not gave up, we will continue our fight till the logical end.” “I have a made a number of attempts to unite the Hurriyat groups but each time I was incarcerated by the authorities to prevent the unity of pro-freedom groups. Anyone who demands freedom from India, I am with him”, he added. Shah addressed people in main market Shopian where a large gathering welcomed the pro-freedom leader and raised slogans in his support. Shah also thanked Pakistan for their support to Kashmir, When Shah was asked Whether the change in Pak govt may affect Kashmir’s, Shah answered “Nawaz Sheriff was in power before this and he has remained very positive in resolving the Kashmir dispute and we will hope this from him in future as Pakistan is the only nation who is supporting the Kashmir cause right from its start”. Later Shah visited to bereaved family of Aasiya and Nelofar where he prayed for the peace of the duo and extended his sympathies with the bereaved family. Local women and other people of the town also thanked Shah for his support to this fight right from 2009. A girl namely Aamina Mir while talking to our correspondent Ayaan Maqsood said, that Shah had visited the town in 2010, 2011 and he is an example for those leaders also who instead of remembering the martyrs are busy with inaugurating cricket matches. An elderly person while taking to our correspondent said, Shah had not forgotten his sisters and had made his visit once again to show his sympathy with us, we are thankful to Shah and others who are with us in this fight.
