Srinagar : Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has paid glorious tributes to Hilal Molvi who was killed in an encounter with police here on Thursday.
In a statement Geelani said, “It is a great loss for freedom movement. Achieving martyrdom and incarcerations are part and parcel of movement.”
Expressing his doubt over the killing, he claimed it a manipulated drama. “The way police claimed about the encounter is ambiguous. Circumstances indicate that he was arrested and killed in staged fake encounter. Since last 23 years of uprising several thousand youth were arrested and killed in custody,” Geelani alleged.
“He was a noble, laureate and preaching the teaching of Holy Quran in his native hometown. SOG and forces were very apprehensive about his pious and religious related activities and harassed him on the pretext that he was centric personality for local youth and during all the period was subjected to worst type of harassment and physical torture and was compelled to flee from his hometown,” the Hurriyat (G) chairman claimed.
Praying for the departed soul Geelani extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolence with the bereaved family. (KNS)
